When I was growing up, my mother would take notes about what sports we kids played, how tall we were at certain ages, and what we wanted to be “when we grew up.” My entries say things like: Mike wants to be: an astronaut, a fireman, a baseball player. And variations of [...] The branding and identity work for the Olympics features some stunning illustration. Kudos to the Vancouver Olympic committee! Today I fired up Google Chrome and saw the Olympic graphic (or “doodle”) Google created for their homepage. (It’s pictured at the end of this article). The image is subtle and appealing. I was shouting “davai Swiss!” (Go Swiss! in Russian) with Irina cheering her homeland. I was rooting for the underdog I told her, [...] The finest logo I've ever seen! In my house we congratulate the players with a “molodyets” and routinely root for names ending in “ov” or “in.” Lately I’ve been shouting “Davai Gino!” while my partner urges on “Ovie.” Yes, we are cheering on the Russian players for Washington and Pittsburgh.
