Mike Simpson is a teacher, blogger, graphic designer and musician from Toronto. He has worked in private schools and LINC schools as an ESL instructor. Presently he is a professor at George Brown College, Toronto (IEP, Intensive English Program). In recent years he led the CALL and Music-Movies-Media Workshops for the well-regarded TESL Program at CCLCS. He’s passionate about art, design, education and technology and blogs regularly on these topics at iam.strongandfree.ca.
“My background is in teaching English-as-a-Second-Language and graphic design. The reason I decided to start this workshop is because I’ve always been a curious self-starter, and after teaching myself the basics of graphic and website design, and launching into blogs and multimedia production, I decided I might have some valuable information to share. I have been teaching ESL and training students in Computer Studies and Business English in Toronto venues such as George Brown and Centennial College and St. Stephen’s Community House. I have a further background in youth leadership and worked many years in parks and recreation programs.”
Mike is the creative force behind SAF Design Media, which produces graphics, websites and audio-video.
